Best Expensive Home Treadmills Over $1000 - Are They Worth It?
Best Expensive Home Treadmills Over $1000 are large, heavy, expensive, but also durable, reliable, and sturdy home running treadmills that offer the user very realistic running conditions, allowing the user not only to burn extra calories at the privacy of home, but also to prepare for actual running events following exact running route.
Expensive home treadmills feature strong, high-efficient, electric motors, large diameter rollers, multi-ply running belts, multimedia devices, internet connectivity, etc. If You don't need all these features, perhaps You should consider some cheaper model - but, if You are a serious runner and You need one of these machines, you have come to the right place.
Published: October 7, 2020.
These units are anything but 'budget-friendly', but they are made to last and to offer 'mixed-reality' workouts if required, although such workouts usually require additional subscriptions to various services and are paid extra.
But, these machines are all about walking, running, melting fat, increasing strength and stamina, burning calories, etc.
Again, no matter how expensive is the treadmill, it is the trainee who does the running, not the treadmill :)
On This Page:
Introduction to Home Treadmills Over $1000
Home treadmills over $1000 are strong and sturdy machines that often have a light commercial warranty, which differs from the home warranty.
When You order an expensive treadmill, it is highly recommended to order the technician to assemble the unit, to test run it, and to explain few things about registering the unit at the manufacturer site, about warranty terms, and similar - it does cost more, but if You are ready to pay $1000+ for a good treadmill, then pay for assembly, extended warranty and similar.
Just my 2 cents :)
Anyway, back to treadmills.
Running treadmills for 300+ pounds trainees should be powered by at least 2.5 CHP (Continuous HP) motors, preferably 3.0-3.5 (or more) CHP if You are taller and heavier runner.
Running decks are rarely smaller than 20x60 inches (~51 x 153 cm) and offer plenty of running space and excellent shock absorption.
Consoles of high-end home treadmills are simple to use, although it takes some time to get accustomed to them - when the unit arrives, be sure to read the manual, especially about using and maintaining the unit.
Large backlit LCD screens display all the relevant data about the exercise and often support additional features without the user requiring another device, like Google Maps, iFit, various other fitness apps, and similar - internet connectivity is usually based on the WiFi or Bluetooth wireless connectivity.
Heart rate monitors in the form of heart rate chest strap monitors allow the user to run 'in the Zone', without the need of placing the hand on the contact heart rate sensor.
Other features like water bottle holders, tablet/smartphone holder, tablet/smartphone USB charger port, MP3 port, builtin speakers, cooling fans, and similar are so common, that they are sometimes barely mentioned.
High-end home treadmills feature folding running decks in order to decrease the size of the required storage area when the treadmill is not in use. But, even then, these are large machines.
Sure, transport wheels allow the user to move the unit if or when required, but these units are also rather heavy - if possible, place them on the permanent location, on a good treadmill mat and keep the unit there.
Some of these units cost well above $1000 and as such, they come with rather special features and specifications - if You need them for some reason, go for it. If not, perhaps such a treadmill is an overkill for You and a somewhat cheaper model is a much better choice.
