NordicTrack C 990 Treadmill Review and Recommendation
The most prominent and full of features and still low-priced among the NordicTrack C line, the NordicTrack C 990 is appropriately sized and designed to support walking, as well as light running and jogging. NordicTrack C 990 treadmill is one of the best machines for home use under or around $1000.
NordicTrack C 990 is equipped with a tablet computer shelf as well as iPod compatibility. For walkers weighing up to 250 pounds and runners up to 200 pounds, this is the best treadmill. In fact, its maximum weight capacity is higher than this - 325 pounds (~147 kg).

However, we have to take into consideration the fact that treadmills, if pushed to their maximum capacities, don’t last too long. 3.0 CHP motor provides plenty of power and smooth running. The running deck is wide and long enough for comfortable walking and jogging. It is 20 inches (~51 cm) wide and 60 inches (~153 cm) long. Runners with longer strides might find this treadmill slightly short.
NordicTrack C 990 has extensive workout guidance. Its 32 built-in apps are made into groups as per workout goals, for example, speed training or weight loss. It features iFit technology which makes advanced data tracking possible and you get literally countless options of workout.
There are options for on-board entertainment like an iPod-friendly sound system and a web browser. And on the shelf located above the console, you can set your tablet computer too.
The warranty package of the NordicTrack C 990 treadmill is good, could be perhaps a little bit better. C 990 treadmill is a highly recommended treadmill for home exercise and for fitness enthusiasts looking for a machine in this price range.

NordicTrack C 990 User Experience
Seemingly C 990 is an ideal workout machine for home use, especially for walkers, runners, and joggers. But what is the actual user experience? Here it is.
Users feel that C 990 is pretty good, but it could have been even better. For example, one of its features that anyone likes is its track which is soft, therefore reduces the strain on knees and is long enough for jogging. It doesn’t create mental strain and fear that you might fall off.
Inclines are also quite smooth and quick.
Another great feature is the speakers.
The touch screen is also great being very responsive, much like that of a phone or tablet.
The ability to be folded or easily moved aside is also a great feature for users.
However, users don’t like the non-adjustable air deflectors (fan) which are set in a fixed direction and so, cannot be adjusted for upper, lower, or sideward directions.
The position of iFit, according to some users, is intimidating, while some others are very happy with the access to a limitless array of exercises in the iFit library. However, the paid membership to iFit is pretty irritating for many who think that the membership should be included in the price of the treadmill.
The Google Maps feature is indeed cool because it makes you feel like walking into nature while being in your home. However, this is also a paid service.
The overall performance of C 990 is satisfactory but not very great below 2.5 mph. The machine slows down and then gets faster with every step. Once it goes beyond 2.5 mph, it moves right along with no slowdowns – interesting, but not welcome behavior for the unit equipped with a 3.0 CHP motor.
All in all, NordicTrack C 990 treadmill is a very good home treadmill, one of the best treadmills in its price range.
