NordicTrack C700 Treadmill Review
NordicTrack C700 Treadmill is a mid-range, home treadmill, suitable for walking and light jogging. It is a foldable, compact treadmill, not requiring much space for use and storage.
It comes with relatively strong electric motor, a large number of builtin workouts, good maximum user weight etc, but the compact size also means a somewhat shorter running deck.

NordicTrack C700 Treadmill Features and Specifications
Physical dimensions of the C700 treadmill are (L x W x H) 73 x 36 x 67.5 inches (~185.5 x 91.5 x 171.5 cm), with the running deck of 20 x 55 inches (~51 x 140 cm).
Maximum allowed user weight is 300 pounds (~136 kg), making this treadmill suitable even for larger people.
The NordicTrack C700 features so-called SpaceSaver design with EasyLift technology, allowing the user to quickly fold and unfold the running deck. Transport wheels help with moving and storing the unit, however, it is highly recommended to place the treadmill on a permanent position, preferably on a good treadmill mat.
The NordicTrack C700 features 2.75 CHP electric motor, which is generally enough even for constant, fast running. However, the best running home treadmills come with 3.0 or stronger CHP motors and running decks at least 60 inches long. With 20x55 inches running deck, and 2.75 CHP motor, C700 treadmill is really good for walking and jogging, but larger people with long strides could have issues with faster running.
Running belt is powered via 1.9 inches (~4.8 cm) rollers, helping with the treadmill's endurance as the exercise machine. Belt is 2-ply and can withstand plenty of use, just be sure to lubricate it periodically.
Note: the NordicTrack C700 is simple to use and maintain treadmill, but in order to get accustomed to it, when it arrives, be sure to read the manual/instructions thoroughly. Also, when it arrives, it must be assembled, which is not of a problem. However, if you are not into DIY activities, feel free to order a trained technician that will assemble the unit for you and prepare it for a daily use.
Speed range is between 0 and 10 mph (16 km/h), which is enough for most people. Some treadmills in this class come with 12 mph maximum speed, but personally, home treadmills should not be used for sprinting and similar workouts. Speed can be adjusted using OneTouch controls quickly and easily, or gradually using +/- button on the console.
The NordicTrack C700 allows the users to change the incline during the exercises using OneTouch controls quickly and easily, or the user can change incline gradually using +/- button on the console.
Such variable incline enables the unit to simulate outdoor running, which can be helpful for runners preparing themselves for the street/trail race. Or the user can simply increase the incline to increase the calorie burn.
The NordicTrack C700 treadmill feature so-called FlexSelect Cushioning system, offering variable cushioning level in order to protect the trainees joints (ankles, knees, hips ...), but when required, also to simulate running on the real outdoor surface, like concrete, asphalt and similar.
Again, this can be very important for people preparing themselves indoors for a real outdoors athletic event.
C700 treadmill features 'Dual CardioGrip Heart Rate Monitor' allowing the user to monitor heart rate during the exercise, which can be of great help for people wanting to train 'in the zone' or for people who simply wants to know their heart rate during the exercise.
NordicTrack C700 Treadmill Console
NordicTrack C700 Treadmill console features multi-window LED display, and large OneTouch and other controls. The data presented during the exercise includes heart rate, burned calories, covered distance, time, speed, and incline.
The C700 treadmill comes with 20 built-in workouts that are easy to access and convenient to use.
Integrated tablet holder is excellent in the way that it is adjustable and it doesn't cover any of the console's controls or displays.
The NordicTrack C700 is compatible with iPod or some other similar MP3 player. Unit features NordicTrack Intermix Acoustic 2.0 sound system, allowing the user to play the music through two 2 inch (~5 cm) speakers.
Note: smartphones are generally not compatible with such MP3 systems. Also, C700 doesn't come with USB charger or USB port of any kind.
The NordicTrack C700 treadmill comes with Autobreeze Fan, an on-board fan that helps the users to feel as comfortable as possible during the exercise. Built-in fan is in fixed position, just under the console's displays, but it generally does a very good job of cooling the runner down. Fan speed can be automatically adjusted according to the workout intensity or the user can set the speed to the desired level.
The NordicTrack C700 treadmill is iFit compatible unit - users with iFit subscription (paid separately, monthly or yearly), using Google Maps can plan routes around the world and run as if they are actually running along those routes. Also, they can receive daily workouts designed by certified personal trainers, record short and long term progress, etc.
Again, iFit subscription is great thing, but not required to use this treadmill. Also, probably because of the iFit compatibility, the NordicTrack C700 treadmill doesn't feature separate user profiles on its own.
NordicTrack C700 treadmill comes with a lifetime warranty on the treadmill’s frame, a 25-year warranty on the motor and a 1-year warranty on parts and labor. This is a good warranty, more or less common for the treadmills in this class.
Long Story Short: if you need a good and compact treadmill with rather strong motor, for walking and light jogging, consider NordicTrack C700 treadmill. It has very interesting features like 300 pounds maximum user weight, 2.75 CHP motor, iFit compatibility, integrated tablet holder, 20 workout apps, SpaceSaver design, good warranty, FlexSelect cushioning system etc.
The only thing that we don't like is relatively short running deck of 55 inches. Most running treadmills have 20 inches long running deck and at least 3.0 CHP motors.
On the other hand, 5 inches longer running deck would make the unit larger and heavier. Also, 2.75 CHP motor is strong enough for slightly shorter running deck, so not having 3.0+ CHP motor is not a problem.
