NordicTrack T 6.5 S Treadmill
NordicTrack T 6.5 S Treadmill is a budget-friendly, home treadmill. It comes with many great features required for good walking or running exercise and it helps a user to burn a large amount of calories.
However, before buying one must be aware of its restrictions.

NordicTrack T 6.5 S Treadmill comes with a 2.6 CHP electric motor. The general rule of thumb is that 2.5 CHP motors are required for a good running treadmill, and this makes T 6.5 S very near the lower limit.
The maximum allowed user limit is 300 pounds (136 kg) which is excellent for this price range and warranty.
Running/walking area is 20 inches (~51 cm) wide and 55 inches (~140 cm) long - many runners prefer longer tread belts (60 inches, ~152 cm) for comfortable running. The tread belt is supported by 1.9 inches (~ 4.8 cm) rollers.
T 6.5 S comes with an excellent warranty - a lifetime frame warranty, a 25-year motor warranty, and a 1-year parts and labor warranty.
Having all this in mind, NordicTrack T 6.5 S is a very good, entry-level running treadmill for smaller and lighter people that don't mind 10 mph (16 km/h) maximum running speed and a very good walking treadmill for larger and heavier people.
Also note that incline can be changed between 0 and 10%, while many other running treadmills can change incline between 0 and 12%. This 2% doesn't look much, but ... Anyway, when running a custom Google Maps route, iFit will automatically adjust the treadmill's incline to match the natural terrain.
It has a lifetime frame warranty, but if you are a 300-pound person and need a running treadmill, a larger treadmill with a stronger motor is recommended.
When in use, T 6.5 S dimensions are (L x W x H) 73" x 35.75" x 67.5" (~185.5 x 91 x 171.5 cm). In order to save space when not in use, the tread belt can be folded.
FlexSelect Cushioning enables the user to adjust cushioning while working out - softer settings help reduce impact on joints, while a firm deck feels more like running on the road.
Adjustments are made with the simple turn of a knob. If you do have any issues with your joints, use softer settings and walk. If you wish to run, softer settings are mandatory in order to decrease the stress on ankles, knees, hips, etc. If you prepare yourself for an athletic event that takes place on the roads, adjust cushioning to best mimic the type of surface you are going to run on.
NordicTrack T 6.5 S comes with a 5-inch (~12.7 cm) backlit display that shows user speed, time, distance, heart rate, and calories burned. iFit uses these stats to create workouts designed specifically for individual users.
Note that iFit requires a subscription, which is NOT free. However, the iFit module enables access to custom Google Maps training routes anywhere in the world, automatic stats tracking, personalized workouts, competitions, and more! So, if you want to walk through the streets of London or run Boston Marathon, or even prepare yourself for such athletic events, iFit can be a good thing - but again, it is the additional cost!
If you don't like iFit, its subscription, and similar, the NordicTrack T 6.5 S comes with 20 preloaded workout apps designed by certified personal trainers. Each program automatically adjusts user speed and time to meet a specific fitness goal.
Most of the controls on the console are OneTouch controls enabling a user to adjust speed and incline with a single touch - for example, when running on the 3% incline, there is no need to press the incline button 4 times to set the incline to 7%, but a single press on 7% incline button is enough. Very helpful during workouts.
T 6.5 S treadmill is equipped with a CardioGrip Heart Rate Sensor built into each handle and there is no option for a wireless heart rate monitor. Monitoring heart rate is very important, especially for people having any issue with it. Therefore, a wireless chest strap, with continuous heart rate monitoring, would be a nice upgrade in the next T 6.5 S version.
T 6.5 S comes with an integrated sound system that can accept iPod or some other music device, enabling the user to listen to favorite music using onboard dual 2-inch speakers.
As one can see, NordicTrack T 6.5 S really has some praiseworthy features. However, there are some things that could be better.
As said before, 1.9" rollers could be larger, chest strap heart rate monitor is not an option and 2.6 CHP motor could be stronger.
However, their motor should be quieter during operation, especially when under load.
Also, there is no place or room for a tablet or laptop computer on the console - don't get me wrong, but when I am walking on the treadmill, I like to perform some simpler tasks like browsing or reading e-mails.
Most of the modern treadmills are equipped with cooling fans, but T 6.5 S has none.
Long story short - NordicTrack T 6.5 S is an excellent, entry-level, home walking treadmill. It can be used for running, too, but maximum speed and tread belt size are limited. With very good maximum user weight and good warranty conditions, if you need such a treadmill, consider this one, too.
When it arrives, it must be assembled, but nothing horrible :)
