Sole Fitness F85 Folding Treadmill
Sole F85 Treadmill is on the market for years - it is a high-end folding home treadmill, very sturdy and durable, but without some features which cheaper treadmills have. In order to remedy that, Sole has upgraded it once more and created a great treadmill worth its money.

Sole F85 Treadmill - Older model (left) and 2016 model (right)
When compared with Sole Fitness F80 Folding Treadmill, F85 Treadmill has a stronger motor, it is slightly heavier, has a higher maximum allowed user weight and it costs a little bit more. Sole F85 Treadmill, 2016 model, has few things improved and redesigned when compared with older F85 model.
Sole F85 Treadmill Specifications - 2016 Model
Sole F85 was and still is a big and sturdy machine. When assembled, it is 57 inches high, 83 inches long, and 37 inches wide (145 x 211 x 94 cm) and it weighs around 301 pounds (~136 kg).
The running surface is relatively large - 60 inches long and 22 inches wide (152 x 56 cm), and provides enough room for comfortable running even for people with longer strides.
The maximum allowed user weight is 400 pounds (~181 kg).
2 ply belt is strong and durable and is supported by 'Cushion Flex Whisper Deck' and 2.75" (7 cm) rollers, which in combination with 4 CHP DC motor and large flywheel, provide smooth and rather quiet operation.
When ordered, the F85 treadmill comes in the box 86" X 38" X 17" (~220 x 97 x 44 cm) and it must be assembled before use.
2016 model has built-in Bluetooth technology which enables users to transfer workout data to their smart device. Now users can download and track their info on the Sole app (for free), or using any of the following fitness apps: Fitbit, Record, Mapmyrun, Apple Health.
The console has been redesigned and few things improved.
F85 treadmill still comes with a rather limited number of workout programs - 6 standard programs, 2 custom programs, 2 heart rate programs. There are cheaper treadmills on the market which come with much more workout programs.
Heart rate monitoring is possible using pulse grips and chest strap (included).
To improve workout conditions, treadmill has built-in cooling fans and sound system with speakers which allow user to connect almost any MP3 player (iPod, etc.) for easy listening.
Workout display is 10.1" TFT LCD (9" in older model) and it displays speed, incline, time, distance traveled, burned calories, pulse, and pace. It also includes a 1/4 mile track feature and a Peak and Valley graph for different programs and includes a message board with clear instruction and feedback to the user.
Incline can be quickly and easily adjusted and the user can choose between 15 different levels.
Speed can be adjusted between 0.5 and 12 mph (~0.8 - 19 km/h) and it is more than good enough for most runners.
To save space, F85 can be folded.
Sole F85 includes the following warranty (All Services are performed in the home of the user): Frame - Lifetime, Motor - Lifetime, Deck - Lifetime, Electronics - 5 Years, Parts - 5 Years, and Labor - 2 Years.
To be sure that you meet warranty conditions, be sure to read all the instructions which came with the treadmill, and if you are not used to DIY projects, order this treadmill with a technician to assemble and test the treadmill for you.
Long story short - if one needs a very strong and robust home folding treadmill, and doesn't mind paying some more, consider the F85 model. It doesn't have some features which are nowadays present even in cheaper models, but it provides everything the user actually needs for goof walking/running workout at home.
For example, I wouldn't mind seeing Google Maps included in workout programs in the future models and options for downhill walking/running. Nonetheless, F85 is a very good and sturdy treadmill - not many models come with 400 pounds user limit ...
