XTERRA TR150 Folding Treadmill Features and Specifications
XTERRA TR150 is powered with a 2.25 HP motor, which provides a speed range from 0.5 to 10 mph (0.8 - 16 km/h) making it well suited for walking, jogging, and perhaps light running.
Running deck is 16 inches (40.6 cm) wide and 50 inches (127 cm) long, making it suitable for walking only for taller people - people taller than 8'2" (188 cm) should be careful when running on such running deck (this is an issue with all budget-friendly treadmills with the deck of this size).
Running deck has 3 manual incline settings allowing for more workout varieties - however, the user must stop with the workout in order to change the incline.
The actual incline change is very small - according to the manufacturer between 0.5 and 2 degrees (0.5, 1, and 2 degrees).
Unit features so-called 'XTRASoft Cushioned Deck' technology, which according to the manufacturer, provides maximum impact absorption, minimizing the stress on the joints and providing a more comfortable workout.
In real life - walking and jogging are smooth and relatively quiet, running by lighter people starts to be noisy, and running of 250 pounds people at maximum speed can cause stronger noise and running deck can start to flex and wobble a little bit.
Note: when assembled by the user, not the technician, if you notice that the treadmill is 'noisy' check everything again. Treadmills can be 'noisy', but when not under stress, this is a quiet unit. Even under load, it performs better than most of the budget-friendly units - and don't compare it with 3-5x more expensive units!
XTERRA TR150 comes with a maximum user weight limit of 250 lbs (113 kg).
Limited motor of 2.25 HP, smaller running deck of 16x50 inches, and user limit of 250 pounds clearly show that this treadmill is designed for home users and lighter workouts.
Unit is relatively easy to assemble, but for people not used to DIY activities, it is recommended to order a trained technician to assemble the unit and demonstrates how it operates.
Assembled weight of the unit is 109.3 lbs (~49.5 kg) - treadmill's frame is built using heavy gauge steel profiles, it is sturdy enough for runners up to 250 pounds, and the total weight is, IMHO, more than acceptable.
Unfolded unit's dimensions (ready for use) are (L x W x H) 63.4 x 28.75 x 51.4 inches (~161 x 73 x 130.5 cm).
In order to save space when not in use, XTERRA TR150 can be folded and its folded dimensions are (L x W x H) 28.5 x 28.75 x 61 inches (72.4 x 73 x 155 cm). Also, the unit comes with transport wheels, so it can be moved around if required. Personally, always position your treadmills in a permanent position, with or without a good treadmill mat, and use it as often as possible, even for walking only.
The folding feature is quick and easy to use.
XTERRA TR150 Console
The console is of very simple design, but also very easy to use, with all of the controls clearly displayed.
The unit comes with a 5” (12.7 cm) LCD display, which is easy to read even when running. LCD display shows all the necessary information required by the user like speed, incline, time, distance, calories, and pulse.
XTERRA TR150 comes with 12 preset programs, which offer a nice variety for avoiding boredom during the workouts. Also, the user can choose the manual program.
Console features 'Quick Touch Speed Buttons', which allow the user to quickly set desired speeds from 1 mph to 9 mph (1.6 - 15 km/h).
Contact heart rate pulse sensors are mounted on the side handlebars, with no option for a wireless chest strap heart rate sensor. Nonetheless, a built-in contact heart rate monitor does a good job, helping the user to train 'in the zone', or just to monitor current heart rate.
Console comes with the built-in reading rack - one can place a tablet, smartphone, or even a book and use/read it during the workout. However, when placing a tablet or smartphone on the reading rack, part of the controls and LCD display are blocked.
Console also features accessory holders, enabling the user to have a water bottle, or remote control ready to be used at the moment's notice, without interrupting the workout.
Note: console doesn't feature built-in speakers (although it looks like there is a pair of speakers), there is no USB charging port, no cooling fan(s), etc. Hint: budget-friendly model, remember?
XTERRA TR150 Treadmill Warranty
For a budget-friendly treadmill, XTERRA TR150 comes with a decent warranty - it could be better, but there are similarly priced treadmills with much worse warranty conditions.
XTERRA TR150 Warranty: Lifetime Frame, 1 Year Motor, 90 Days Parts, 90 Days Labor.
