EAS Myoplex Micellar Casein
EAS Myoplex Micellar Casein is a pure casein protein supplement, suitable for slow digesting day and bedtime shakes and smoothies. It comes in only one size and only two flavors, but it can be also used for increasing protein content in other meals, too.
Published: March 9, 2017.
At the moment, EAS Myoplex Micellar Casein can be found only in 2 pounds (908g) packages and only in two flavors - Vanilla and Chocolate.
Nutrition data of both flavors are given in the following table - data are given per single serving:
|Cholesterol||15 mg||15 mg|
|Calcium||1000 mg||1000 mg|
|Sodium||150 mg||160 mg|
|Potassium||150 mg||170 mg|
|E3 Fusion Complex|
|HMB (calcium-beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate monohydrate)||1.5g||1.5g|
|L-Leucine||500 mg||500 mg|
|Phosphatidylserine||300 mg||300 mg|
|Lactium (alpha-casein decapeptide)||150 mg||150 mg|
|Suntheanine (L-Theanine)||150 mg||150 mg|
When compared with similar casein protein supplements, EAS Myoplex Micellar Casein has somewhat larger servings, needed to achieve 25-26g of protein per serving.
It is very low in carbs and fats, and thanks to 2g of fibers per serving and 26g of slow-digesting protein, it is a very satiating supplement.
Also, Myoplex Casein is very low in fats and cholesterol, and very rich in Calcium - in fact, due to 1000mg of calcium per serving, one can even 'overdose' him/herself with calcium, if several servings are taken throughout the day.
Manufacturer's directions for Myoplex Micellar Casein: 'Mix 1 serving in 12 oz of water, milk, or any beverage of your choice. Vary the amount of water to achieve your preferred consistency and taste. For best results, take up to 1 servings a day.'
E3 Fusion Complex consists of HMB (Wikipedia link - it opens in the new window), L-Leucine, and Phosphatidylserine (Wikipedia link - it opens in the new window) and according to the manufacturer, 'these ingredients will help you keep the progress you push so hard for'.
Well, HMB and L-Leucine are, IMHO, great compounds, while I am not so certain about Phosphatidylserine - after all, I consume plenty of meat, poultry, and fish, so my intake is above 'average' intake of 130 mg of Phosphatidylserine.
Relaxation Complex - it 'allegedly' helps with sleeping, relaxation and it reduces stress. Allegedly or not, many users report that they feel much better and more relaxed in the morning, after taking Myoplex Casein shake in the evening.
Personally, I have no issues with sleeping, so I can't really say pros or cons regarding 'Relaxation Complex' in real life :)
Taste - although I am a chocoholic, I don't like Chocolate flavor much. Taste of Vanilla - somewhat worse. Mixability - something left for future versions, I guess.
Now, few pros - if you get your hands on this casein, mix it using some sort of blender (a small hand blender will do fine), in a tall pot with water, and feel free to add some natural peanut butter, low-fat, or cottage cheese and low-fat cocoa powder. It tastes excellent, just be aware of the amounts, since calories add up fast. These calories are good calories (healthy fats, slow-digesting protein), but calories are calories.
Similarly, if you want to increase protein content in, for example, protein pancakes, Myoplex Casein is a very good choice.
