Dymatize Nutrition ISO-100 Whey Protein
Dymatize ISO-100 – one of the best buy whey isolate proteins.
This whey supplement is pure hydrolyzed whey isolate, thus, one of the best whey proteins on the market.
Published: October 28, 2016.
Dymatize ISO-100 comes in many different flavors, with grams of protein, carbohydrates, fats, and fibers per 100g of powder, given in the following table:
|Cookies & Cream||81g||4g||1.5g||0g|
|Gourmet Pina Colada||86g||3g||1.5g||0g|
The protein source is hydrolyzed whey protein isolates - and nothing else. Of course, supplement contains smaller amounts of other ingredients like flavors and sweeteners.
As one can see, macronutrient content varies slightly with flavors, but the protein content is rather high, while the content of fats, carbs, and fibers is rather low.
Also, serving size varies between flavors, however, each serving has 25g of protein including 5.5g of BCAA (2.7g are leucine).
That means that flavor, for example, Gourmet Vanilla, contains around 19g of BCAA (9.2g leucine) per 100g of powder or 22g of BCAA (10.8g of leucine) per 100g of protein.
Dymatize ISO-100 comes in 1.6, 3, and 5 lbs containers. Unfortunately, there are no 10 lb containers. Also, there is a 10 serving (0.71 lbs) bag for those that want to try this protein supplement.
Powder mixes instantly in a shaker or even in the glass with a spoon with very little foam. The taste is good.
Dymatize ISO-100 is a great whey protein for Post Workout Meal (PWM) shakes. For breakfast, ISO-100 digests to quickly even when slowed down with oats and similar foods. Also for different shakes with fruits or yogurt, it is simply too fast whey protein. But from time to time, a quick snack with Dymatize ISO-100 with bananas, strawberries or yogurt and milk is a good thing to increase the daily amount of consumed protein. If possible, make those snacks with slower whey protein, or even better with egg or casein-based protein powders.
As said before, Dymatize ISO-100 is great for PWMs, but when combined with creatine and additional BCAA, it makes fantastic PWM that greatly helps with muscle recovery even on low-calorie diets. If you are on a Keto diet, feel free to choose any of the flavors since the maximum amount of carbs per 100g of powder is around 3-4g - at most ~1g per ~30g serving.
If you train for around 45 minutes, ISO-100 can be an excellent pre-workout drink (plus PWM after a workout, of course). If you work out more than 60-70 minutes, take one scoop of ISO-100 during your workout (plus PWM).
Real food is real food - real food is generally cheaper, tastes better, etc. but many times, it is much more convenient to take supplements.
The price of Dymatize ISO-100 Whey protein is, of course, higher than whey proteins based on 'ordinary' whey isolate, whey concentrate, or whey protein blend. From time to time, one can find this (and other) supplement on the sale, at a very good price.
Dymatize ISO-100 Whey - recommended. Highly recommended for periods of very intensive workouts and/or low calorie/carbohydrate intake. If low on the budget, buy cheaper whey protein and the rest of the money spend on real food.
If you place a larger order, 10 serving bags are sometimes even available as sample bags, but that is not very often.
Anyway, if you are lactose intolerant, feel free to try this 10 serving bag - if you don't like it, well, you didn't throw away much money. But, seriously, with practically, almost no carbs, no gluten, and no lactose, have stomach issues with Dymatize ISO-100 are rare. Personally, I prefer chocolate flavors, this time too. However, other flavors are good, even if you don't like many fruity and similar flavors.
